Today we went to the fair. Ben has been talking about it for a year. It wasn't the rides or the food that he didn't want to miss, it was the baby chickens. Nanny and Paw Paw are in town from Louisiana and they wouldn't miss the fair.
Can you see Ben and his daddy in the pink bucket? Last year he wouldn't get near the sky buckets. This year he rode them twice.
Here they are with the famous baby chickens. Poultry World is always our first stop and usually our last. The bumper cars and the racing car roller coaster were Ben's two favorites! Daddy was a good sport....fair rides aren't the smoothest rides. The weather wasn't the best but we had a great day! It was a wonderful way to kick off our Fall Break from school. We can enjoy our days off and our visit with Nanny and Paw Paw.
We are going to try to go to the fair tomorrow. Hope it doesn't rain! We will have to go find those baby chicks...too cute! Have a great Fall Break and visit with Nanny and Paw Paw!!
It looks like y'all had a great time at the fair. We really enjoyed it this year, now that the boys are older. I have a tip for you though. Don't EVER ask what happens to the chicks after the fair. :(
Ben likes to say certain words and tries every chance he can to fit them into the conversation. He has had a great time sneaking 'pooh' and 'poop' into a sentence or coming up with words that rhyme with them. We have told him that they are 'bathroom words' and we don't say them unless we are in the bathroom. The other day Ben was helping my dad put up the camper. Daddy was unhooking the sewer pipe and placing it in the compartment on the outside of the camper. Ben said, 'Paw Paw, that is a poop pipe.' That's my boy!! 10/18/08
Michael and I were going out tonight and we were breaking the news to Ben. He replied with "It will just be Nanny and me. That is just the way I like it." 10/13/08
Love my Dachshund!!
We have a dachshund named Cadillac. He is 7 years old. I would love to post more pics of him, but he does not like the camera. We try to include him in our pictures when we can.
